Have just returned from a one week trip to Bangkok - where one of my aims was to get 2/3 quality bespoke suits made!
As time was on my side I spent a lot of time visiting a number of tailors: and I have to say that in the end my decision with who to go with was easy - Savile Row Company are a wonderul family run business who are there to make sure you want to come back and get your next 100 suits made with them - and of course do what I am doing right now - tell everyone else to go there.
The shop is not glamorous, located in a Rose hotel off Suriwong Road,(nearest MRT station Sam yan) but the guys know their stuff! I took an old Italian suit which I thought fitted me quite well for them to take a few ideas off - and they literally pointed out everything they could improve and make better. They stock the best quality fabrics! Do not make a common mistake of buying a 'cheap suit' in Bangkok - the labour and quality will be well priced so make sure you go for the TOP END fabric - otherwise you are defeating the object! The 150/210 italian and english fabrics they stock at Savile Row are wonderful and I had 2 fittings plus a final check when they were ready to make sure everything was perfect. I was so pleased with the whole process (and not to mention the price I paid after some good bargaining - take hard cash its more effective :-) ) that I ended up purchasing 3 suits and 2 further blazers.Wonderful place which I recommend to anyone unsure of which of the hundereds of tailors to use in BKK. They have my measurements on file and I will ordering from them from now on!
If you put in the time to tell them exactly what you do and dont want - and dont cut back on your choice of material you will receive one of the best suits.
