Menghun market
There were different sub-groups of the Hani nationality at the market, some were calling themselves Akha wore a high, black head wrapping like this woman negotiating some vegetables with a Dai woman. Others had a big black turban and a third wore a different colourful headcover.
A couple of Hani nationality ladies wore big black turbans like this old lady making her way between the two Dai girls on the left and the Han looking person on the right.
The lady on the lower right with the colourful floppy headress also claimed to be Hani and was selling a Hani traditional headress, it was all very confusing.
Jinghong airport
Back in Jinghong I considered taking the bus to Lijiang but not for very long because it's a two day voyage reputed to be rougher than the 23 hour trip from Kunming. I decided to fly to Lijiang...
