I've finally got internet up in my room! The tech guy LITERALLY walked away two minutes ago. And here I am, posting a new entry in my journal for the sole purpose of your enjoyment, enlightenment, and overall mental well-being. How thoughtful of me!

player and learned that he had made his own instrument fifteen years prior. Also, he used to be a scientific researcher; he got fed up with it and looked for the least scientific job he could find. After the dance I stayed up till midnight playing ping pong with a couple of other guys. It was intense.

Saturday July 9th (Day Four):
Woke up and packed everything back into my bags (at least, packed the clothes I had worn and other things I had used during the previous few days). Brought them up to the dining hall and ate. After breakfast, Dennis brought out a bucket of food pellets for the kangaroos and let us take turns feeding them. Everyone crowded into a throbbing mass of outstretched hands and cameras held high, reminding me how touristy we all were, still fresh to the "wonders" of Australia. We hopped on the bus and drove the 3.5 hours back to Melbourne, where the UWA students departed on our flight across the country. Everyone else went on to do their farm stay (we'll do ours at the end of the month).

This would be a good time to describe the other UWA Butler students. There are 12 of us total, six living in Trinity (my residential college). Of those twelve, six are from Vanderbilt. All six are civil engineering majors, which means they've taken nearly every class together for the last two years. In other words, they have a history. Luckily, they're nice people and are very willing to do their own things. They are Tory (from Kentucky, never been out
of the states, every few minutes he makes a comment such as "It's so cool how the houses are built here." Or "Have you noticed how there's sand in the grass? It's so, like, tropical. It's cool." Or "I'm all about the buses. They're way nicer than buses back home." He's obviously in a state of constant amazement and is easily impressed by little cultural differences, which is refreshing.), Stephanie, Sarah, Laura (one of my favorites- a fun, self deprecating sense of humor and reminds me ...
