Hola from Puno, a port city of the infamous Lake Titicaca!
Thanks for all your emails and comments, I enjoy them so! And Steffi, I do believe that the mechanic we encountered on our travels from Minneapolis to my parent´s was named Tubs. Yes indeedy. Thanks for reminding me of that incident. Since the whole flight fiasco all has been well. Peru is lovely. The people are warm and friendly, the landscape is beautiful...and then there is MACHU PICCHU! I believe that is where I last left off....
Blame it on the altitude....

Also, as of yet, no signs of P.B.) The landscape was breath-taking...mountains and rivers, passing through towns and villages...with interesting flora and fauna. After our 3 + hour tour (just like Gilligan´s Island, only different) we reached Aquas Calientes where we were greeted by our local guide. Off directly to Machu Picchu we went!
Well, the trek to Machu Picchu was, well, a bit anxiety ridden. We were on a bus swerving around and about the mountain. (Brenda it was almost as scary for me as our ride to the top of Sugar Loaf in Rio...oh my!) What made the shear drop even more terrifying was the fact that all of a sudden another oncoming bus would pop out (No Marina, not ¨pop up.¨) of nowhere...and then the two buses would play chicken. Beyond scary.
Eventually we arrived safely at Machu Picchu...and although initially it was disappointing that the mountain (Machu = old, Picchu = mountain) was
