Helen and I only stay in Luang Prabang for the night and we manage to get about 4 different truths of bus times and stations for travelling on to Luang Nam Tha. Seems like I'm back in Thailand already!! In the end we make our own judgement and decide for the Northern bus terminal - as we're going north funnily enough. The first leg is pretty uneventful minus the really uncomfortable kiddie seat Helen has for the first 130km so being the gentleman everyone knows I am, I take the crap seat for the remainder. We get to Oudomxai and there is a bus waiting to go to Luang Nam Tha. Turns out they've been waiting for a while and needs 3 more people before leaving. As I go to get tickets there's people waving from the bus hoping I'm getting on. Turns out it was an Irish girl - Cat - I met in Vientianne. A Kiwi guy - Terry - comes to put pressuree on me to make sure I'm going to get on that bus.

Glad I left Helen to the bags while getting the tickets. I end up having to sit on a bag of rice at the door for the 130km journey. probably more comfortable than those seats. At the fag break stop we meet the rest of the falang - Jim and Sian who are on the Gibbons experience the same day as me and Helen and Susie a lovely Geordie lass who now seems to be an accident waiting to happen (Sorry Susie!! Had an accident or 2 in the last while, although I'm not really one to pass judgement on accidents!!). Were all looking to do some trekkinng in Luang Nam Tha and we manage to get checked into the same guesthouse.
We are sitting having a beer and we're joined by an other girl - Hanah - who's also doing the Gibbons the same day. There are 2 options here for trekking - go with Green Discovery or the Eco-tourism office. Now rumours are rife around town of a senior guide having been abducted and we start to do some Scooby Doo investigation work!! We go
