Freo is a class wee seaside town about 20 km south of Perth where everyone is really friendly and laid back. I get stuck in the Sundancers hostel for a week, waiting for Chris to catch up and thinking about working and stupid amounts of drinking. I stay in Cottesloe for a few days before moving here, just around the corner from Kev and his mate Stevie - not to forget Robbie who's on holiday. We take the night tour of Fremantle Prison, which a little lame but interesting none the less. It was only closed 15 years ago and is right in the middle of town. It was built by Abo's and then they locked them up inside it after. Nice!! i always thought the Aussies were a little racist when it came to the abo's, but now I fully understand why!! The ones in the cities and towns just drink all day, bumming money and
ciggies off anyone and everyone, not to forget the usual fighting with each other. I saw one guy fully smack his partner in the face on a busy street in the middle of the day.
The World Rally Championship is on while we are here with a spin off of Miss Rally Oz competition. Both events were awesome and very lucky to be part of the last one in Western Oz!! We went out in Northbridge the last night before flying to Ularu, bad idea......Stevie and Kev know how to drink and I think we crawled home about 2 hours before getting picked up for the Airport. Stevie and Kev went back to Cottesloe for a swim and learned on the lunchtime news that the beach had been closed about 20 mins after they left because of great white sightings - lucky not to be fish food!!
