We leave the Perhentians and Jude behind and get a private bus to KL which is meant to be 5 hours but turns into 7!! As we come into KL you can see the Petronas and KL towers lit up which looks class. We stay right near Chinatown and the hostel (Pudu) turns out to be a winner. Has Cable TV, sofas (we've been looking for one for a couple of months now), and beer 24 hours!! We see in the papers there has been car bombs in Hat Yai, just where Jude has gone to and the coup starts not long after!! Just her luck. The most expensive thing in KL is drinking in the pubs so we limit ourselves to one night out in the Raggae bar (well I do anyway) - see pics of Guiness and KL breakfast.

Me, Phil and Jay go to see the Petronas towers and who else is there - Chris, see blogs from Luang Prabang, Siem Reap and god know where else - I think he's stalking us!! The views round KL are class from up there but not as good as the KL tower. Theres a reverse bungy there which Phil
and Emmet go on. Its not my cup of tea being shot up in the air at 200km/s!! But we all have a go on the flying fox - a zip wire from the base of the tower across the car park. Its a bit of a let down for Phil and Emmet, their balls weren't slung into their stomach by it!! While me and Ben are waiting for the rest of the guys we have a look at the monkeys climbing about the place only to get chased by a mother monkey. Just as well we are as fast as Linford Christie cos I didn't fancy a trip to the hospital for rabies shots.
We have a wander around Chinatown and do some hard bartering for cheap clothes and shoes which is always good fun. Not long after we run into Paul - Ozzie guy me and Phil met on our Boker Hill tour. Random as but its great cos I have some more free accommodation in Melbourne now....Blair your sacked!!
We take a trip out of KL to a jungle park. The guide is class, she stops every few minutes to point out a different bug or plant. We came across soldier ants, which are huge and deadly. We're only told this as Jay bends down right infront of it!! Forgot to mention the Amazon Dragon fish they have - its about 10 feet long and can snatch birds out of mangroves, again Jay is about 2 inches from the water watching the fish as we are told!! Dangerous Phil is losing his title to Jay now!! We're shown viagra plants for women and men which could come in handy some time. The thing we've been waiting for is the canopy walk. Its OK until you look down and your 50 feet of the jungle floor. The trees with the leaves that don't touch each other aren't found anywhere else in the world and have been snapped and studied heavily by National Geographic, so I guess we're pretty lucky to see them!! The place was called FRIM and is useful for anyone that doesn't have time to go to Temmenegara National Park to do the canopy walks there.
We manage to waste a week in KL drinking beer all night and watching footy at stupid times of the night. We're putting off going to Singapore cos we know its gonna be a fortune!!
