We get out of Vietnam without starting our own war and find a new appreciation for the decompression chamber that is Bangkok. We meet Jude who's already checked into the D&D Inn on Koh Sahn (Blackpool) Road. After finding out the proce of the room I gasp "Jesus this is expensive!" while Jude's thinking "Jesus this is cheap!!" So we'll be moving place tomorrow. The best thing about the place is the roof top swimming pool which is open til 2am!! We show Jude Blackpool Road and then buy beers from the 7/11 to drink overlooking Bangkok in the 2 ft pool. Even Barrymore couldn't stub his fags out in that depth!! The evening is made all a little better with a bottle of the finest grade 12 drink of the gods, the one and only Buckfast fortified tonic wine....fantastic!!

The rest of the time in Bangkok is spent showing Jude around the shops and getting ready to hit Ko Phangan via Samui for the Full Moon. We booked our flights a good few months ago and forgot about our meal choices until we were sitting comfortably on board. The Air hostess approaches Phil and asks "You order the Lacto Ovo meal Sir?" "What?" The meals arive before everyone else, a Hindu meal for Emmet, a diabetic meal for me and then Jude's kiddie box complete with Smarties and stickers!! Even the hostesses are in fits of laughter at us!!

We arrive in Samui airport to find a wooden shack, no security and a baggage conveyer belt that should have hamsters in a cage underneath it. Great place. So off to Cheweng beach to find Jay - one more to add to the travelling Nordies. We all know that Samui is rubbish so we decide to get moving to Ko Pha Ngan in the morning just to make sure we can get accommodation at a resonable price before the hoardes land. So with Jay and the usual suspects on board we get off at Hadrin and decide lets get as far away from the Full Moon beach so off to Thong Nai Pan on the other side of the island for some ...
