Another Izzy lover stamp in the passport, and we were back in Tunisia. We didn't have to walk far before we were molested from all directions. Taxi drivers and money changers all wanted a piece of my ass. I ignored the changers and found a driver who would take us to Ben Guerdane. Along the way, as usual we were stopped. One policeman stuck his head in and asked if I spoke English. I answered with a small bit because realistically, I speak dodgy Aussie. He answered with an I don't. You got to love these smart asses. Once at the louage gare, there were the usual calls for where they were going. The fullest louage was heading for Djerba, so I celebrated the only way I know how. Two Capusins !!! After I had finished them, we were on our way back to the little fundaq that is the Youth Hostel. The people there were so excited to see us, not because they like us, because we were the only ones there !!! We dumped the bags and went walking. As it was Sunday, today was market day. Everything was being sold. Fruit & veg, clothes including god awful Abibas tracksuits, and the spelling is correct, and a second hand clothes market. After a quick run around, we headed for dinner to make the plans for the last week
The Plan
Tomorrow, we get up early, throw two Capusins down me, jump in a louage that is going anywhere towards Sfax or Sousse. Our ultimate goal is Sousse. After that, we are going to one of the seven holy cities of Izzy lovers, Kairouan where we are going to run around like fuckwits buying kilims, then up to Tunis for a couple of days because we want to go to the Bardot museum and if we get the chance, re-visit Dougga, just to re-assure ourselves that this really is the most impressive Roman ruins in the world.
Capusins drunk - 2
Capusins total - 19
