Chigi Chapel. It was nearly as described. A couple of pyramids, a skeleton on the floor, but no horocope signs or stars. There was also meant to be a sign denoting that this had the Chigi Chapel in, and on the sign is meant to be the all seeing eye and a pyramid, but we could not see these. We walked out a side door, and I was looking all over the church, and I noticed some
carved signs, way up high on the building. And there it was. The all seeing eye, which is on the US dollar bill. The day had in the end, turned out ok. 4/5

Tomorrow will be a different day. We are going back to find the Santa Maria della Vittoria. We had a look on the internet and now think we know where it is. We also need to visit the Castel Sant Angelo.

Day 3

Santa Maria della Vittoria

Having looked on the internet last night, I was feeling pretty conident about finding this church. There we were again, standing in Barberini Piazza, and we still couldn't see it. I pulled out the book as obviously, old Dan Brown knows best. His line is, " from the shadows of a small laneway, the church was opposite them." I stood there, I
found a couple of laneways, but there was no fucking church to be seen. I was beginning to get pissed off. The only thing I could do next was to go to the holel Bernini and talk to the doorman. I did this and he said, it was up the hill and to the left !!! Up we went, and we were now in Largo di Susanna, and there it was, Santa Maria della
Vittoria. I would like to be able to say a lot of harsh words about old Dan Brown, but, as I only swear so much, I will say that I rate him up there highly, when it comes to rating fuckwits !!! The church was nice and there were a couple of nice Bernini statues, but no hanging priest !!! 5/5

Castel Sant' Angelo

We have walked past this old castle numerous times, and finally, we had to go in. Up a ramp and we spiraled around and aropund. There was a exhibition on Baroque architecture and paintings, with this mainly being centred on Bernini. He had done major work in his time in the castle, so it was good to read about his works. We wondered around taking it all in, also getting a nice view of the Pont Sant' Angelo. And with that, our little Angels and Demons tour had finished. 6/6

But wait, there is more. A visit to Rome, is not really complete without a visit to Il Coliseo. Been in a couple of times, so it was good to walk down and see it again, but, my view has not changed, I still think it is a shithole. We walked through the Roman forum, which I do rate, and then back on uo to the new hotel that Lucy is staying in.

And with that, my Rome weekend had now officially finished..

My Last Views

It had been so good to come back to Rome, I do love the place, but not as much as Paris, but then again, they are both so different. I love the food and speaking Italian, however, I can't understand two things, and I will leave you all to ponder these to things I noticed.

1 - Why do African men sell bags?
2 - Why do people of the Sub-Continent sell small tri-pods?
