at this after the last time we were here in 1998. Even so, we had a great time in Goreme. Once we got to Urfa, the prices came down, except for the trip up to Nemrut Dagi to see the big heads, which were a little disappointing. From there, we steamed towards the border, and into Iran

Before we left the UK, so many people, including our Mothers, told us that we were going to die !!! We did explain to them that that was Iraq !!! Once in, we met some great people, and had home stays, but we did meet some freaks as well. Esfahan was my favourite, but seeing the sadness of the people in Bam was pretty heavy

And then there was the Sub-Continent.

Luckily for us, we were down South when the earthquake hit. Once up in Peshawar, we did feel some tremors, and going up the Khyber Pass, was great. We both enjoyed the Chitral and the Kalasha Valley, but it would have been good to go further north, but it was getting colder, later and the Sunnis and Shi Ites were killing each other, so we went back to Lahore, saw Kim's Gun, Zam Zama and then moved onto India, where we first saw the Golden Temple of Amritsar. Onto McLeod Ganj, but the Dalai Lama had scarpered before we had a chance to say g'day. Then we hit Delhi. A lot of people hate the place, but I actually liked it. We hung out for a few days before we saw the majestic Taj Mahal. Words cannot describe it. It's an amazing building. Varanasi is a place that is very spiritual for some, but an Irish guy called Frog, and I ran around one day asking for a goat and trying to convince the locals that you have sex with boats !!! A boat trip on the Ganged is the thing to do, first thing in the morning. After a long bus ride, we arrived in Pokhara, which is in Nepal. We trekked the Annapurna Circuit where we met some really good people, and went on with two Seppoes to Kathmandu. We did Christmas there, and then onto Chitwan to spot some wild animals. And then ...
