A Return to the Hill

says differently. Who do you believe !!! Next door is an old hotel, so we had a quick look through. Nothing has changed up here, except that the Ranger's station that we stayed in last time is now much bigger. Apparently, there are more rooms and they will cook you food now. The price is the same and it kind of makes me wish I had stayed up here again.
On the way down, we did go faster, but we met two cars !!! And two four wheel drives. Actually, two girls I met in 00 came up in a car (they're still my bikes, Happy !!!), so I wasn't to surprised to see them coming up, but I feel, if you do ever come here, and you can ride a bike, this is far better way to come up the hill. It only costs slightly less but it gives you way more freedom. We had nobody up there except the four of us. We had a few eventful moments, because we were going faster, so Lucy was sure she was brown staining herself !!! Halfway down, we stopped to take some photos, and then I noticed a little pain from my right ankle. I had a fucking leach attached to me. It was getting fatter, and we had no lighter or salt, so we ripped the little shit off of me. As soon as it was on the ground, it squirmed faster than Carl Lewis and jumped onto Lucy's sandal. She kicked off her sandal before it could attach itself to her. Then it wouldn't let go of the sandal !!! After much prying, she removed it, but it could smell skin and blood, and came at me again. So the only solution was to run the fucker over !!! Didn't work, so we left it to its own devices and downwards we rode. Not long after, we were at the bottom, and ten minutes later, we were back in Kampot.
It had been a good day up and back and it was great to return. I would have loved to have done it from Sihanoukville, but they don't hire bikes anymore to tourists, hence the doing it from Kampot. So, if you are ever in this neck of the woods, and you can ride a bike, just GO.
