The bus trip was uneventful. It took slightly longer to return to Dhaka, as we had the traffic to contend with. Once we were in an area that we knew, we asked the bus boy to let us off. He refused, but after a little nudge, he saw the error of his ways, and we had our bags and went searching for a hotel. A quick prickshaw ride later, and we had our new room. After a bite to eat, it was then end of the day, here in Dhaka.
We went to the Indian High Commission very early, as we wanted to beat the crowds, but once there, we read that foreign visa papers are accepted between 11 and 12. So we hung out until it was time. When the time was upon us, I attempted to enter, but the guard would not let me bring my bag in. When I questioned him about the lady in front, he stated that women could carry bags, so, I gave mine to Lucy. He accepted this, and in we went.
We waited
And we waited a little more.
Then it was our turn. We had a conversation with the officer, and he refused to give us a transit visa as we did not have a flight booked out of India. I did promise to either buy one or go overland to Kathmandu, but he would not accept this, so we left, and found another cab to have another fun trip in. And, what fun it was. Whilst driving, he noticed someone he knew, who was driving another cab, and started speaking to him. I was watching in front, and could see the traffic stopped. Then we hit, and I mean fucking hit. The driver in the car in front, got out and started punching the driver, and he was unwinding and the cabbie just sat there taking it !!! We left him getting beaten up, and found another cab and ended up at the Biman Air office. For a shitload of money, we are now flying out of here and going to Bangkok. Thank fuck, we are not going back to India as yet !!! Later that evening, we ran into our first tourist. He was Swiss, and very strange, but this is Bangers, where nobody goes !!!
