but very salty sea water. You can only take so much, so we went back to the roof of the hotel and swam in the pool. Down below in the local field, there were loads of cricket games going on. I convinced Andrew to come down, so we kind of invited ourselves into a limited over game. My side batted first, and we were scoring loads of runs, until a little boy took a one handed screamer, which brought me into bat. After blocking the first two, I attempted a quick single, which there was no response from my partner, and I was runout !!! I did a Ponting and gave my partner a mouthful, and copped abuse from all of the aussies watching. The locals nicknamed me Ponting at first !!! Which was better than Andrew's, Dav Whatmore !!! It moved onto Gillespie quite quickly, but they didn't understand that I didn't have a mullet !!! Andrew went first ball, and that was the first game over, with us winning quite easily. The second, I opened, and was scoring quite heavily, until I ran out of partners. Andrew's side once again went down, and with that, the cricket had finished.
As this is the coastal area of Bangers, there were some amzingly huge hotel/resort complexes down here, with a complete lack of tourists about. As this was about a 15 minute cycle rickshaw away, we all decided to go to a seafood restaurant for dinner. Now, there was nobody in the restaurant when we arrived, and we gave our orders, which by chance, were exactly the same, but the people here still managed to kind of fuck up. It also took ages for the food to come, but the food was faultless. In fact, I think it was the best meal that I have had in Bangers so far. Once finished, we tried to get some cycle rickshaws to take us home. It was quite hard, I just don't get the fact that we offer them money, but they are unwilling to take it !!!
Andrew was leaving us this morning, so we took a quick trip up to see the Buddhist Stupas. Once again, they were very Burmese in style. As we walked back, we came across a squashed dog lying in the middle of the road. As it was a dog, and they are thought of as a lowly creature in the world of Islam, it was just left there to rot. Typical of this country. So we dropped him off at the bus station, and said goodbye, until god knows when. Could be in Aus, could be in the UK, or it could be in some little corner of the world, where people are not expected to go. It was great to catch up with him, and sad to see him go, but hopefully, we wwon't wait as long next time. Ah, the people you meet in the travelling world. Once he was gone, we packed our bags in preparation for the trip back to Chitters. There was still a one day game to see, and we have now decided to go and see that.
