Sometimes you, think, why the fuck do I bother to ask for breakfast at a certain time !!! We had asked for our breakfast to be ready at 06:30, and when we went down, the people who ran the hotel were only just getting up. They said that they could have it ready in about 45 minutes, so we said fuck that, paid up, and walked out. Up the road, where the Exodus group were staying, we knew that their breakfast would be ready, and as their guides liked us, we ate their breakfast, and then ran away. Five weeks before we started our trek, there had been a huge dump. As we walked out, we encountered frozen show that was up to a metre thick. It was really slippery, so we slowly made our way out of Manang, through old Manang and then started to climb. We said goodbye to Manang, via a prayer wall and new Ghompa. As we were climbing, we were joined by a group of kids, who were out collecting wood. They were singing to us and asking for money, but we kept on walking. At the 1.5 hour mark, we stopped for tea at Chllu West, and had an awesome view of the valley. There was a knobby Canadian guy who reckoned that the sun went behind the mountains way later than lower down. If we were to come back, I would stay here. We left him, as he would not shut up about acclimatisation !!! And still we climbed. As we went higher, we moved into Yak territory. The first one that I spied up close, I pulled out the camera, and as I was taking the shot, it eyeballed me, and looked like it was going to charge. I did the best thing that was possible. I hid behind Marco's guide !!! Not much further on, we arrived at Yak Kharka. We had a bite to eat, ran into another Aussie couple we had met in Manang, and just to make sure that we were getting use to the height, we went for a walk. We headed up, as this is the only way to go here, and headed for the next village of Let Dar. We walked for about 1.5 hours until it came into view. We hung around taking a load of photos, when a group approached us. It was a bunch of Aussie Fathers and their boys. They were from Canberra. It was good to talk some Aussie, but the longer this trek goes, the more people we are now running into. We walked back down to the hotel. Went in, grabbed a seat at the restaurant. It was now cold. The owners placed a coal fire at our feet. Around the table were a French Couple, an Aussie couple, a Pom/Canadian couple and us. It was a good mix. As the evening grew longer, the Yaks came back to their pastures to go to bed. Yak Kharka, actually means in Tibetan, Yak Pasture. After dinner, and once the owners refused to give us anymore coal for the night, we grabbed two blankets each and crashed. Tomorrow was going to be harder, and we wanted to be strong for tomorrow
