We had found out from a couple of Poms, who in fact were a couple of fuckwits, that the group we had seen the previous day, were a group of 14 Poms travelling on a tour with a company called Exodus. There goes the lack of people at this time of year !!! We had ordered breakfast the previous night, so we were eating by 08:00. Much better to get it out the way and make an early start. Our notes said that we had a pretty heavy climb first thing in the morning, so at least we could complain the rest of the day !!! We walked out, and down a hill. Never a good thing, as it means we were going to have to go up. Fuck I hate downs !!! At the bottom was another suspension bridge. Whilst crossing it, we saw a couple of feral monkeys playing. Our first wild life. Aaahhhhhhh !!! And then we went up !!! Only a little way, but we had to contend with all the donkey and their handlers. Sometimes in life you need to try things, so I pulled out my Ixus, pushed the on button, and the fucking thing came on. Fuck it, or great, who the fuck knows, but I was back in action, cameras in both hands !!! I am such fuckwit !!! According to our notes, the top of the hill is a place called Tal. After a couple of villages, we arrived at Tal Besi. And the track went straight up. It was a mean climb. Up at the top, we looked out into a vast plain, which looked like it used to be a huge old lake, or maybe, it was just the base of a massive river, when the monsoon season comes. I will never know, as there is no way I am going to be here then !!! As we entered Tal, we crossed under a gate, and this marked the end of the Hindu influence and now we were in Buddhist territory. Thank god for that. You can never trust those Hindus !!! We stopped in the village, for a chocolate bar snack. After the climb, we were both hungry. School boy error. Should have bought shit loads of chocolate bars in Pokhara where it is cheap !!! We left the village and walked through fields with nothing in them. Wrong season !!! Oh well, such is life. We climbed some more, crossed a new bridge as the old bridge had died and we were in Dharapani . We stopped for lunch. We had a great view, and the owner was trying to convince us to stay. Our legs were pretty fucked, but fuck that, we wanted to go on. We ate, paid up and moved on. We were going to stop in Bagarchap, home of a huge landslide. The village has been rebuilt, but we found that we still had a little left in us. We walked through and half an hour later, we were in Danaqu. We stayed at the Hotel Snowland. As usual, no hot water or electricity. It was also getting colder. Thank god for the fire in the kitchen. I was getting smellier, but this is the joy of trekking !!!
