We awoke late, as far as trekkers go. When we looked out of our window at 08:00, up on the hill was a hotel full of Westeners. And here we were thinking that we had the track to ourselves !!! So we ignored them, had breakfast and packed. We only had 12 K's today, but there was no way we were going to miss out on lunch after yesterdays debacle. We needed food to keep going. At the first hour, I spotted a load of donkeys, crossing a bridge. The perfect photo opportunity. Ixus came out, tried to switch on, and nothing happened. I swapped batteries with Lucy. Still nothing. The little fucker had broke. I was so pissed off. Luckily we still had the G6. After about two hours, we came across our first Westener. He must have been a Pom as his pins were so so white !!! We said hello, but he ignored us. We walked on amongst the donkeys, past a cafe full of more Westeners, and down a steep slope to a bridge. The views of the waterfall at Syange that we could see were awesome. We crossed over the suspension bridge, and started to go up. Now, it wasn't as steep as yesterday, but fuck, we were fucked !!! It was pretty obvious we needed food, so we started looking for a place to eat and Jagat was the next place. Now from Jagat, the Maoists hang out and expect some sort of donation/extortion. We were ready to say fuck off. Once there, nothing happened, so we settled down and had lunch. Once we were full, we paid and moved on. It was hard to get the legs going again, but we managed to. The hardest thing though was we had to climb. And once again, we struggled. Fuck I am a girl !!! Up we went, passing a few westerners on their way down. I was wishing that was me and that this fucking trek would end !!! After another couple of hours, we arrived in Chamje. The school stated, with a sign on the wall,
Long live Lenin
Long live Marxs
Long live Mao
Happening place !!!
There were two hotels. According to our notes, it should have been bigger. I dumped my bags down and went for a walk. There was nothing, so we settled for a room at the Tibetan Lhasa Hotel. Oh, it was a happening place. When you took a dump, you showed your ass to the world. Fuck, I couldn't wait !!! And, as we are now on day 2 of the trek. No electricity and no hot water !!!
Breakfast - Tibetan Bread
Lunch - Fried Potatoes with egg and veg, Fried Rice with egg and veg
