We had heard loads of things about Yazd, and actually being able to buy a bus ticket to get there, we were kind of a little excited, and we were on a Mercedes for the first time. We did have one problem. Our seat numbers were 1 and 10, but as Lucy and I are married, we knew we would be sitting together, especially, when a man got on the bus brandishing seat number 9, he looked over, and saw I had 1 and he accepted the consequences.

Once we arrived at the Yazd terminal, the local Extremist taxi drivers fought over who would take us to the Silk Road Hotel. We found our man, settled on a price of one Khomeini and off we went. He had no idea, and tried to off load us at another hotel. I got angry and said to take us to the Jameh Mosque. I saw a sign to our hotel, and up he drove. Once we had our bags out, the little extremist asked for another Khomeini. I told him to fuck off. For some reason, the hotel decided to pay up and give him the extras !!! We grabbed an expensive room, and saw a few Dutchies we had seen in Esfahan who were on pushies. We also grabbed some lunch. The fucking Extremists in their wisdom decided to add 15% to the bill. I vowed to never eat there again. We walked out an had a look around the Jameh Mosque. It was full of Extremists but it was quite impressive, as you would expect of a Jameh Mosque in town. It was getting late, so we had a wander around the old mud brick alleys. They were very impressive. We headed of until we found another old stately home that had been turned into a restaurant. We ordered, and as usual, there were extras. 15%. I was getting pissed off with this. We went back to our hotel. I could not understand why everyone loved this place with all these added extras.

Up early the following day, we went for another walk and as usual, we got lost pretty quickly. It was enjoyable doing this, but we ran into a tour group of old Frenchies. They would not move, so we walked straight through them. How unusual ...
