distance, the town looks good. As we started to go towards the gate, there was feral type people everywhere, trying to sell body paintings. We walked in, tried to look, but these fucking ferals were selling shit everywhere, so we could not see the nice houses that are meant to be there. We walked on. We went up a nice covered walkway and ended up at a church. There were some medieval type of performances going on, so we watched for a while. We did the same the next day, except that we climbed the clock tower, which was pretty cool, and we tried to find the other 10 towers but could only find 8 in total. We also took a photo of Vlad Tepes, who Bram Stoker based his book on, but I would never recommend this town at this time of the year. But I do have one lasting memory. As we had to get a train at 07:00, we arrived at 06:30, and the locals were sucking back beer at this time !!!!!

Brasov

Another walled town, another grabbing by a local at the station, and we were whisked away to grab the room in the centre of the town. We walked around, found the walls and followed what was left of them. They were ok, so were the restored towers. The town was nice, but all the locals were saying that you will be ripped of in some way or another. Never happened though.

Next day, we caught a bus and went to Bran castle. For some reason, the Romanians place this castle with Dracula, even though, in the original book, it was not here, and Vlad Tepes never set foot in the town. It is like a big white Med villa. The furniture was cool, but it did not seem long before we had seen it all. It was a bit of a rip off the price of it, but that is the way it goes. Next stop was Risnov Castle. The book states that it is a ruin, and everyone prefers this castle. Remember though, our book is 8 years old, so now this castle has been restored. It was a pleasant walk up a little mountain to look at it, so we accepted that it had been restored, and walked around it. I actually did enjoy it more than Bran. There was some nice things to see up there, but we had to get back, so we went down. Whilst standing on the corner, waiting for the bus, a car pulled up, some locals jumped in. The driver shouted Brasov at us, so we had a nice quicker ride back. This hitching in Romania is the way to go !!!!!

I did enjoy Transylvania and would recommend you all to go. It has been spoilt now, but prices are still cheap, so, if you fancy a little vampire hunting, well, actually, most of the girls in Romania dress a little vampy, you all know what to do !!!!!
