Another weekend, another RyanAir flight, another trip to Germany, but this time, we flew to Lubeck. As it was a fair drive to Hamburg, we hired a car and drove in. Once in the town, we had a walk around and found that they were setting up for another beer and food festival. We love coming to Germany !!!!!. We walked down to the harbour, it was pretty cool. They had all these chairs set up which were painted in different ways by many artists. Realising that we actually needed to erect our tent, we struggled to find the campground. Now in the Lonely Planet, it states there are 3. We only found one, and it was the one that they said do not stay in. Well, the worst campground we have been to was in Lagos, Portugal. The ground was like concrete there. Here was a very close 2nd. 22 Euros, and 1 Euro to shower for 4 minutes. It was hideous. So once it was up, we walked out, jumped on a train illegally of course and went into town. We hit the pork stands first and then did a walking tour of Hamburg. We saw the old fallen down church and the town hall and all the other buildings that managed to survive the war. We also went through the old dock areas which was being built into houses, but the pork and beer was calling me. So we hit it hard. Then I saw it, like a beacon calling me. Back in 98, we went to a monastery called Andechs, which brewed their own beer. So this was the beer for the day. Well, we had pork steaks in rolls, pork sausages in rolls, a bowl of potatoes with onions and bacon, a bowl of mushrooms with garlic sauce, more Andechs beer, a Berliner and then finally to top it all off, we had a half metre of pork !!!!! It was starting to get dark, so it was time to hit the Reaper Bahn. I thought it was going to be a lot worse, but it was similar to Kings Cross in Sydney, well, kind of !!!!! Another free train ride back to the tent, and that was a nice way to start a long weekend

We awoke really early ...
