A return to Salzburg

Lucy’s Mum was touring around Europe and had dropped into see us. This was in September. We all know what happened on September 11, but on September 12, Ryanair had a sale, so, for all of 0.02p, or around £75.00, the 3 of us were off to Salzburg. Once in, we had a walk around the town, looking at the Dom and the town square. There was a markets happening so we fed ourselves there on sausages and cheese. I had decided that the only place for me was the Augustiner beer hall, so I had a couple before meeting back with Lucy and Brenda for a walk around the area where Mozart had lived. After dinner, we had an early night as we were off to Neuschwantstein. As it is in the South of Germany, we had a long drive to get there. Once there, not much had changed, we walked up to see it. This castle is magnificent. It never ceases to amaze me that a Prince could get this built. It’s a pity that it was never finished. It would have been great to see it in the style that it was meant to be. Brenda to, was amazed. On the way back, we decided to stop off at Innsbruck. Last time we were here, there was not one internet café, now they were on every corner. My dream of being the internet café king of Innsbruck had been shot down in flames. You can’t always get what you want, so we left Austria and headed back to old London town.
