Once again we were back in Germany. Does the whole of Europe revolve around Germany !!!!! Will this question ever be answered ????? Only time could tell. We headed back to Stuttgart, but this time to the north of the town. We decided we would go to the Porsche factory on the off chance of being able to join a tour. Being Germany and everything run correctly, we could not get onto a tour, so we kept ourselves busy looking at the museum. Well, they are Porsches so there is not much more you can say, but I didn’t realise that they had used 911’s as police cars, and some of the 356’s were beautiful. You could waffle on about the cars there, but it is easier not to, so I won’t. We left and ended up in Heidelberg, but as we were entering the town, some sounds started to come out of the Chookster. We were worried, but we plodded on. The reason for being here, is that there is a huge castle overlooking the town. We went up, and some Germans coming out, gave us their tickets. We were slightly dubious as about getting in for free, but, they let us in. It was pretty good inside and we saw the largest wine cask in Germany, maybe even the world, who knows. So, one slightly noisier Chookster and myself and Lucy left. We were headed towards Luxembourg but before we could enter, we went to the only Roman ruins in Germany. Trier. Now this was good. After travelling through the Middle East and Europe, we were all ruined out, but this was a breath of fresh air. The massive Porta Nigra guards the North End of the town and to the south, lies two Roman bathhouses, but best was yet to come. A stone amphitheatre was on the edge of town. It was complete, but there was grass and trees growing through it. After seeing some of the other amphitheatres through the year, this would rate as one of my favourites. As the day was drawing to a close, we jumped into the ailing Chookster, and headed off..
