We arrived at the airport, and were asked to put all of our bags in to the x-ray machine. We gathered them. We lined up at the counter where we had to get our seats. They looked at our tickets and we were once again asked to put our bags through an x-ray machine. We picked up our hand luggage, wave goodbye to our packs and had our seats. A few others from the trip were at the airport as well. With 45 minutes to go, the screen started to flash “boarding”. We went to go to the gate on the other side. Once again, our bags were put through the x-ray machine. So far, our daypacks had been x-rayed three times. Then the announcement came over, your plane is delayed, and delayed, and delayed, and delayed, and whatever. It was delayed for three and a half-hours. We were then told we could board the plane, but before we were allowed to board the plane, we had to pick up our bags off of the trolley and place it onto another trolley. Once done, the plane took off and we were on our way to Athens. As it was still morning, I was told, go to Plaka, get a room and then go and see the sights. So we got a room at John’s, went out and made our way to the Acropolis or is that the Acrapolis !!!!! Saw a few statues and then went to the home of the Olympics to run a lap of the track whilst Lucy sat in the royal box and then we went up to where the flame was. Now this was exciting. All worn out from a simple lap of the track, we made our way back into downtown Plaka. There we had a superb mousaka and then it was time for bed as we had a date with a ferry to take us to the islands.
