Summertime rolled along and one of Lucy’s friends was going to be in Amsterdam, so we decided to drive up and try and catch up with her. Going on the overnight ferry is always hard, especially when the sun is just rising and you are dead tired. Still, we found a hotel, ten minutes away from Leidseplein, which was ok. First thing to hit was the coffee shop. Once loaded up and spinning, we moved onto the Heineken Brewery again. Now we had been once before and we know the tours are crappy but the money goes to charity and it is the best Heineken in Amsterdam. Now I was steaming whilst Lucy was happy. The next step was to continue with our glass collection as we had been collecting glasses with different names on them. As hard as we tried, we were unable to meet up Lucy’s friend so we continued on our Amsterdam trip. Here in Amsterdam, there is a comedy type club called Boom Chicago. They offer an alternative boat trip. As their boats are tiny, they can get you into places which the big boats have no hope. The Red Light district looks decidedly different from the water. An American couple in their fifties, asked if I would bring some cake back for them, I did think about this, but as we pulled into customs in Dover, we were pulled over and had our boot searched. Now admittedly, we had loads of glasses, but they were not worried about them. Maybe one day I should get my haircut so the customs agents don’t think I look like a druggo !!!!!
