When returning from vacation I often have feelings of exhaustion and the need for a “vacation” from my “vacation”…some rest and relaxation to ease me back into general daily functioning. Every so often, however, there comes a “vacation” that doesn’t fit this mold but instead offers refreshment, peace, joy and satisfaction.

During our stay at the cabin we were granted access to a raft and a couple of kayaks, not to mention anything else our hearts desired. It couldn't have been easier to load up our equipment on the trailer, drive down the

road 7 miles or so and then lower our transport into the Rio Grande River. An hour to two hours later we would dock at the shore of Leonard and Vi's backyard where we would carry the kayak or raft up the stairs to the deck and then load back up if we so desired, for another go.

- Paul guided and instructed J.W., Tiff and myself down the river quite gracefully.

-Tiff and I venture into the waters alone to test our skill.

-Tiff and I enjoy an early morning cruise down the river soaking in the beauty, wilderness and conversation.

-Tiff and I decide to time ourselves down the Rio Grande which proved to be more difficult due to high winds. I am proud to announce that we did successfully make it down the river in record time. Agh. It was pretty tough. To this day, I don't care to talk about what occured on the river that hour. But I will share a typical scene. Read below:
Noise:Click! (Tiff's paddle hitting Tanya's paddle)
Tiff: Sorry!! (High pitched and compassionate sorrow from Tiff)
Tanya: So, what's your favorite

Tiff: I don't know! Can I answer you later, I'm trying to focus?!?!?!?!?
Tanya: Okay, I'm just trying to distract myself.
Noise:Click! (Tiff's paddle hitting Tanya's paddle...again)
Tiff: Sorry!!!! (This time a bit more short and curt)
Tanya: (begining to think to myself about my options) Can I just jump in the river and swim the rest of the way back?
Tiff: It's not even 2 feet of water! You can't swim in that anyway!! And if you do, I'm going to come after you and ...
