Left Cusco for the hole that is known as Puno, rubbish all around the streets, stray dogs everywhere and loads of minibus drivers screaming LIMA, LIMA, LIMA!!!!!!! But it was the gateway to the Floating Islands, which are suprisingly, islands that float (being made from reeds) on Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Quite a nice experience asides from the whisky/ seasick episode. The locals were pretty friendly and we stayed with a couple of families on the islands for the night. Ate some very strange looking food, well we shovelled it into my backpack where we could dispatch it later without insulting the family- it was horrible! The cheese squeaked when you ate it!!

Played some football with the locals which ruined us cos of the altitude, i basically sat in defence and did very little! Remind me never to complain about Synwell again, beats rocks, chickens and old women walking across all the time! Spent the night at the local "discotecque" in some local garments, quite funny actually, they dance like we did when we were 10 or so, just grab hands and run around in circles until everyone is tired!

Next stop was La
Paz, Bolivia which is quite a nice city but far too chaotic. But very cheap so spent money on fake football shirts and stuff at a market and then proceded to spend much of our time watching football in a pub. Very cultural. Got hammered one or two nights which was amusing, Armstrong sleeping at the bar for a good couple of hours, the barman didnt mind him sleeping so long as we carried on buying drinks...... and their shots are at least quadruples of ours. We saw San Pedro prison which will only mean anything to those who have read Marching Powder but that was quite interesting. We booked up to the do the Worlds Most Dangerous Road on bikes, absolutely quality, most fun we have had in ages! Just hurtling down a 40 k gravel track with a massive drop on one side watching ...
