I should have cancelled.

At the exact moment in which the rain hit the ground and the weather became reminiscent of Soviet Russia and nothing like a typical Italian summer...I should have cancelled the tour. My subconcious repeated this but as usual it went unheaded. With this feeling in my gut repeated for an entire 4 hour tour it was punishment enough. I seriously should have cancelled the tour.

At 1:30 I rock up to Circo Massimo, as planned, and as always. Upon exiting the metro it's dark...Not strangely however, the weather's been terrible lately and it's about to rain. Fortunetly for myself i've got to give a 4 hour tour - - an outside tour of ancient rome with no rain jacket or umbrella but i think "what crazy ass tourist is going to want to pay 15 euro's to walk in the rain and here me bitch about Rome in the rain". "no one".

Famous last words.

Strangely enough 14 North americans and Australians still show their grubby tourist faces. And all of them keen enough to brave the weather subsequently forcing me to take the tour. "Fine" i think. "That's their perogative", however i'm stuck sternly on the short end of this stick. I'm sick and i've got to walk in the rain, but that's my stupidity. I've been continuing to drink on the pubcrawls I work - while perpetuating my ill fated illness cycle. I probably deserve this. I decide to take the tour and suck it up.

Fortunetly 7 people drop out, and so 7 remain.

- Two eldery folk from New Orleans, INCREDIBLY nice and well worth the tour.

- Keel, australian guy. Asked a lot of questions, but really awesome guy.

- 3 guys & girls approximately my age. From...somewhere in the states, i don't care. They prove their worth in the latter half of the tour.

- Some girl. Forget her name, she's cool. Hot anyway.

And that makes seven. To be honest, to try and explain ...
