Sitting on Brighton beach with a caramel & chock chip ice cream just meters away from the sea. The beach has a few less pebbles that the one back home, but lovely just the same. Think the tide is coming in. Borrowed one of the hostel's free-to-hire bikes, well, I say free, I had to leave my credit card there which probably means it's been cloned and some toe-rag is buying a Gucci track suit as I write. Still, it's been nice to escape St Kilda and come along the coast now that the rain has finally past and the southerly antartic winds have been swapped for a much more plesent breeze from the Northern deserts.

Only another 5 days before I head up North - yes, I finally talked to the travel agent and booked in my tours and trips around the East coast and central Oz. It's such a good feeling knowing that there's a plan. I can't wait to get underway!
I've been trying to get fit, toned and tanned by running around Albert Park, doing dorm gym and munching through salads in order to compete with the stunning surfer boys who I've heard teach the 4 day surfing camp I join in Sydney on Tuesday. Oh the shameful vanity of it all.....
Have added 'Temporary Fence Erector and Dismantelor' and 'Fork-lift Truck Driver' to my CV, after a call went out in the hostel asking for someone to work for the day for $15 per hour. Well, I wasn't doing anything, so met up with this guy called Bob to sort out his temporary fencing. Bob was wicked, we shifted the fences, and he just left me in charge of the forklift truck in his warehouse - it was brill - I've always wanted to drive a fork lift truck- this truely is a holiday of dreams! Ha Ha! Happy Chappy
