I would have to say that Slovenia has been my favourite European country so far, for its natural beauty, the friendly people, and the outdoor activities. I started in the capital of Ljubljana which is very nice but small so I saw everything I needed to see in one day, so then I moved west to the village of Bled in the Julian Alps, where I ended up spending 5 days. There are all kinds of outdoor activities there like climbing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, canyoning, or caving. I went white water kayaking on the Sava River, hiked to Vintgar Gorge, and went rock-climbing a couple of times. The rock-climbing happened after I was invited to go with a local guide named Ziga and an American named John. I was also able to sleep at Ziga's house when the hostel was all booked which was pretty cool of him. This past weekend happened to be the Bled Festival so there was a lot of partying going on as well. I had a great time hanging out with fellow travelers as well as some of the locals.
