NB. Lack of photos owing to the wonderfully frustrating temperamental antics of my new Sony camera. Sorry.

... I had intended a stay here of several weeks.. and now, only a week or so after my arrival in Oz, I am ready to leave, gladly packing my bags for departure tomorrow... So, the story goes...

eaten a tiramisu gelato earlier, I wondered whether to enter the Max Brenner chocolaterie en route home... I'll leave you to figure the rest of the story.

...To awake with a stressed sensation of having so much to accomplish in so little time is a feeling I thought I would've left behind as I boarded my first flight back in LHR. It was not to be the case. My travels have presented more opportunites for time management, organisation, communication, patience, people skills, stress managment, problem solving, quick thinking and efficient decision making than any grad position back in London could've offered me!

...Blue Mountains: landrover out in the bush (including close encounters with kangaroos)! - fun, and breathtaking views but probably not the wisest of ideas on an injured ankle.

...I was not sorry to leave Sydney, my time there having been uneasy, restless and stressful. I spent my final day in Syndey basking in the sunshine beneath the architectural monstrosity of the Syndey Opera House, looking out over to the Harbour Bridge. This of course would have made for an amazing photo, alas, my camera having failed me I was left to sketch the scene in my notebook. Sigh. I slowly meandered my way back to the hostel, making all the stops that are inevitable in a city: coffees, fresh juices, snacks, books and clothes. Returned to that favourite past-time of packing, or rather shoving (though I prefer the former description). Besides, it had to be hurried as Colm and I decided on a farewell dinner having spent the best part of a week in one anothers' company. We opted for the vegan Bodhi restaurant near Hyde Park. Dry green curry with lychees, snow peas, pineapple and asparagus. Not that an excuse for dessert is ever needed but this dish was definitely spicy enough to warrant one! Ice cream at an italian cafe. Emails. Chocolate. Bed, desperately trying to ignore my aching ankle...

...Weds morning. ...
