Spent my 23rd birthday sailing around Rio drinking Caipirinhas, was such an amazing day with big group of people from the hostel and some of them organized a cake for me at which point I apparently became quite emotional and kept talking about how much this display of kindness from strangers meant to me!!! oh dear! Anyway after several more nights out in Rio (the 2 big J´s will be pleased to know only takes me 3 Caipirinhas to get hammered!! so my drinking has not improved much since the days of goon!!) We were pretty worn out so decided to head to Buzios, small beach town 4 hours north of Rio, for a few days to relax. We ended up staying a week as living in a beautiful Pousada right by the beach, paying the same amount that we pay for horrid rabbit hutch in Rio. I was very
excited to have my own double bed, bathroom and 2 clean towels every day!!! Worked out this was the first night I slept alone in a room since the 23rd of January! Really good group of people, lots of BBQs, tried some surfing again!! and went swimming with turtles!
Came back to Rio for the weekend as Simon leaves on tuesday back to Bromley!! and Phil and I head to Ouro Preto tonight for a few days before heading to Bolivia on thursday, so excited!!! Will miss you loads BI!!!
