places between Whitehorse and Dawson City (530km). She helped us run the engine in the morning, as battery mysteriously refused to work. Moreover, the only other people on a campground that night, German family in a brand new RV faced exactly the same problem.

Before we got to Dawson City we tried our luck fishing in Klondike River. Result was same as always, namely nothing. In Dawson City it was Shell gas station that reminded us we are not in the beginning of the 20th century. But then a time machine started working and even a gas station couldn't help. Colorful buildings, gravel streets, saloons and gold prospectors with enourmous beards hanging around. The only difference between now and hundred years ago I drew from a photography in a museum, is that now there is so much less people in Dawson.

Today there was Gold Panning World Championship, which was quite and event. We were happy and surprised to discover that Polish national team was competing too. We tried hard as we could, but other teams had perfectly prepared fans. Australians for example brought funny little hobbit with small guitar. Poles ended up last but one. What a shame.
Afternoon we went to see famous gold streams: Klondike, Bonanza and Eldorado. After the Great Gold Rush big companies intruduced enormous dredges in the area, that made the whole place look like a deserted contruction site. Disastrous.
Sad we didn't find any gold we went to Diamond Tooth Gertie's for a show. What a show it was! Magnificent! Stunning! We had such a good time that I can hardly remember the ending. Fortunately it wasn't me driving to the campground tonight. One thing I remember was beatiful Aurora Borealis in the sky after we left Gertie's.
