In the Times of the pharaohs El Quseir used to be a Greta port and all the chips to the Land of Punt (eastern Africa). It is presented on the reliefs in the Temple of the Queen Hatshepsut.
Nowadays El Quseir is a sleepy town, a little bit forgotten by the history and the people. There are three leisure centres in the neighbourhood.
Every Friday there is a market where you can buy almost anything.
