Garoua is a town in northern Cameroon, by the Benue river. It is a capital city of the Northern province. It has about 425 000 inhabitants and it is a very important river port.
It is trade and agricultural centre. The is a textile manufactory and an airport. The first president of Cameroon, Ahmadou Ahidjo, was born there.
Garoua might be interesting for tourist, because it is a great place to start trips to The Waza National Park and the Bouba-Ndjida National park.
