Bamenda

Bamenda is a capital city of North-western Province. It has a population of about 327.000.Most of them are members of the Tikar tribe. It is located among very picturesque hills. It is san interchange and a trade centre.
What to see and visit:
There is a Baptist mission in the town. Not far from Bamenda here is a 367 km long ring road. It goes among the most beautiful mountains of Cameroon. Near Bamenda there is a Mount Oku (3000 m above the sea level) Reserve, The Kimb River Reserve, The Mentchun Waterfalls, the Tribesman Palace and a pyramid-shape temple, also Mankon and Bali palaces.
History:
In the past the Tiku people resisted the attacks of other tribes. In the 18th century they joined a Demence alliance, created by Mbum people. In the 19th the city was taken by the Germans. After the World War I it was shared between The UK and France.
