General
Timimoun is a fantastic place to stop by and a gorgeous oasis. It is located in western Algeria. It is said to be the finest town to take a look at in a visit to the Grand Erg Occidental. Timimoun has very friendly inhabitants who have very different backgrounds: Zénčte Berbers, Cha'amba Arabs and Black Africans.

What to see and what to visit
It is a little place, with houses made of red mud. They are clustered around each other.. The palmeraie is a place to stroll for a few hours. There is a very desirable palm trees? shade, which make the hot summer days cooler.
The salt lake and distant sand dunes make Timimoun a photogenic place, so do not forget to bring a good camera. Even the new town, (the French one of course) is very nice.
