General
Djanet is the most important settlement in the south-eastern part of Algeria, but it is not a ?real? town- there are quite a few villages clustered around the same oasis and a palm grove. They are not very urbanised.

What to see and what to visit
The landscape around Djanet is very picturesque but in general the town has not much to offer except for the excursions to the rock paintings of Tassili N?Ajjer, which are quite expensive.
