Guest GuestI was Anuha Island General Manager in December 1987 to May / June1988, until the island structure was burnt down and the island effectively closed down from 26th May 1988.
Can anyone please inform me what is happening at Anuha lately? it was sheer paradise- what a shame that the island tourism was stopped overnight- the island structure was beginning to operate and attract many overseas guests to the Solomons- The island employed over 121 islanders and their families and Aussie expartriates tradesmen.
I strongly believed in the Solomon Island future, I still do, would n't it be great to see it emerge again as a huge tourist destination. deep sea diving- sailing- fishing- those wonderful islanders who were just so kind to visitors- my diary entries indicate the many events we took part in- the markets- the buildings- the culture- the marvelous island workers who did so much to improve their familiies future.
My wife and I deeply regretted ever leaving Anuha Island, we put so much into making the island work, but, it can regain its future again, by simply making a plan to reinvigorate the thinking and planning to make it the very best reort in the Pacific.
