Bafata is a town in the middle of the country. This is a birthplace of Amílcar Cabral -agronomic engineer, writer and supporter of independence. It is located in an area famous for its flora and fauna, especially monkeys. Bafatá?s most important industry is brick making. It is the administrative centre of Bafatá Region.
