Janjangbure
Kaśka GlancA town founded at the beginning of the 19th century. It is located on the island called Janjangbure on the Gambia River. It is now the administrative centre of the Central River Division and is known as home to Gambia's most important prison. The Wassau stone circles are located close to the town.
These stones have a long and mysterious history. They were erected in the 8th century and mark burials. There are about 1000 of them. The stones are on the Worlds Heritage list.
