Keren 
Kaśka GlancKeren is a mountainous town and it is quite a big agglomeration. It has a population of about 120,000. It is also an administrative centre of the Anseba Region. Most of the inhabitants are Muslim. Keren is very attractive and it is quite regularly visited by tourist who are bored with Asmara. The name of the town means highland. The town is also one of the main rural centres in the country, mainly for fruits and vegetables. The west of the province is famous for its banana plantations. In the town there are two markets ? a town market, where you can buy mostly food and a wood market. Every Monday there is also a livestock market, where you can purchase or sell farm animals like sheep and goats, camels and donkeys. The town keeps its Italian look. The public buildings are very stylish and there is a Romanesque Catholic church.
