It is a tourist centre of kiwayu Island chich is located on on Kenya's East Coast on the Indian Ocean.
There is a great marine park - Kiunga Marine National Reserve. The residents are monkeys, lion, cheetah, serval, lesser kudu, caracal and African hunting dog. Dolphins and whales are also seen frequently off the coast of Kiwayu.
