Labe
Kaśka GlancA town in central Guinea, in the Fouta Region. It is the market centre for bananas, vegetables, and rice. A lot of cattle is also raised there.
Labé was a part of the Mali empire in the early 13th century. Between the 16th and the 18th centuries it was commercially and politically important place which also served as a centre of Islam. Labe is inhabited by the Fulani people of West Africa. Their ancestors used to be sub-Saharan Africans and Berbers.
Labé is nowadays the most important centre of Islam in Guinea.
